Of course, I love a beautiful Christmas card. I have taken pictures of my own kids at a tree farm the last three years (no small feat).

But years from now, I don't think you'll look back at these photos and think about the card you sent.

You'll remember how little they were.

You'll remember the excitement on their faces when they saw the Christmas tree. The way your kids squeezed each other during a hug. The tiny hands reaching for yours. These are the traditions that become the memories you treasure most.

Because the truth is, Christmas looks different every year.

The kids grow. Their personalities change. New traditions begin. And before you know it, the little ones who once couldn't wait to see Santa are suddenly teenagers (cue the tears).

That's why I believe holiday photos are about so much more than getting the perfect picture for your Christmas card.

They're about documenting your family in this season of life.

The little in-between moments you don't want to forget.

These photographs become part of your family's history and someday, they may be the images your children look back on and remember what Christmas felt like when they were little. ❤️

So yes, let's get that beautiful family portrait for your Christmas card.

But let's also capture everything that makes this season yours.
